  5. Description: NDW Viewers for Paradox Version 3.5, Lotus 1-2-3R3, Lotus
  6. 1-2-3 for Windows, and LHArc Version 2.11.

  8. The files in this archive enable you to enhance Norton Desktop for Windows
  9. by adding the ability to view Paradox 3.5, Lotus 1-2-3r3, Lotus 1-2-3 for
  10. Windows, and LHArc 2.11 files with either the View Pane or with the
  11. stand alone Viewer.  
  12.  
  13. This update also provides the ability to specify a custom point size for
  14. the font used by the Viewer.  This is especially useful for users with
  15. high resolution displays (i.e.: 1024x768).  The included parsers can each
  16. be assigned a specific point size.  INIADD.TXT demonstrates the additions
  17. required to NDW.INI to display 10 point fonts.  Simply modify the
  18. "FontSize=" lines to customize your Viewer display.
  19.  
  20. The files in the archive, and a brief explanation of what they do, are as
  21. follows:

  23. READ.ME        {This file}
  24. INIADD.TXT     Additions for NDW.INI to take advantage of this update
  25. HXD.DSP        Hex Display Driver
  26. SS.DSP        Spreadsheet Display Driver
  27. DOC.PRS        Document/Text Parser
  28. PROG.PRS    Program Parser
  29. SS.DSP         New display engine required to support new viewers.
  30. PDX.PRS     Paradox 3.5 parser for viewer.
  31. L123.PRS     Lotus 1-2-3r3 and Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows parser for viewer.
  32. DBASE.PRS     Database Parser    
  33. MSEXCEL.PRS     MS Excel Parser
  34. ZIP.PRS     LHArc 2.11 Parser
  35. NDWUPD.DLL     DLL to support integration of new files into 
  36.             the Norton Desktop for Windows.

  38. To install these new viewers, follow these steps:
  39.  
  40. 1. Copy all of the files from the archive to your NDW directory.  In all
  41. cases where a file of the same name already exists in your NDW directory,
  42. you should overwrite it with the new file from this archive.
  43.  
  44. 2. Load the NDW.INI file from your WINDOWS subdirectory into a text editor
  45. and make the following changes:
  46.  
  47.     a. Add the following lines to the [Viewer-Filemap] section:
  48.  
  49.         DB=PDX.PRS (If you are installing the Paradox Viewer.)
  50.  
  51.         WK3=L123.PRS (If you are installing the Lotus 1-2-3R3 
  52.                  and Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows Viewer.)
  53.  
  54.     b. Add the following line to the [Viewer-Parsers] section:
  55.  
  56.         PDX.PRS=Paradox
  57.  
  58.     c. Then the changes outlined in INIADD.TXT should be made in NDW.INI 
  59.     (use a text editor like NotePad to make the indicated modifications)
  60.  
  61. 3. If you made these changes from within Windows, you will need to
  62. re-start Windows for the new Viewers to take effect.

  65. and subject to the terms of the original license agreement.
